Introduction
Thick wall short radius seamless elbow butt resistance welding is a kind of resistance welding method using resistance heat to weld elbow and pipe along the whole end face at the same time. Butt welding is widely used because of its high productivity and easy automation.

The end face of the elbow and pipe, as well as the surface in contact with the clamp shall be strictly cleaned. The oxide and stolen goods on the end face will directly affect the quality of the joint. The oxides and stolen goods on the surface of the elbow and pipe in contact with the clamp will increase the resistance at the contact point, which will cause the workpiece surface burn, pliers wear, and increase the power loss.
Thick wall short radius seamless elbow means that the curvature radius of the elbow is 1 times the diameter of the pipe; Also known as 1D. The radius of curvature of the elbow is equal to one times the diameter of the pipe. It’s usually a 90 degree Angle.
Intuitively, a short radius bend is much shorter than a long radius bend, and the bend radius is very rapid. Long radius elbow is the most commonly used, the default is also long radius, high pressure or high flow rate will be used in the place of long radius, if it is a solid pipeline resistance requirements to use a larger radius elbow.
